Trip of Bombay to Nasik

I remember that time I was working with Reliance web world’s Mumbai office as a network engineer, after few days vacation I reached office, my boss called me and said that some shiv sanik people have ransacked our Nasik office last night, and all the systems are down so I have leave to that place as early as possible along with other people and ticket have been booked already by nandigram express which will depart at 4:35 pm from Mumbai central, my boss told me to leave back to home and get ready. Gathering courage I asked him when we are expected to come back, making funny face my boss said hopefully next Sunday, they have already booked the tickets by mahanagri express and depending on the work it can be re-scheduled.

Left with no choice I left for home and met my office colleagues at station and we were off to Nasik, the journey took about 3.30 hrs from Mumbai and we reached our office. Office was in big mess shape and wasting no time we started our work, we didn’t care that it is Saturday or Sunday or day or night, we were trying our best to settle down the thing and finally by next Friday afternoon everything was up and running.

That was a time when we took relaxing breaths and started discussing on going back, since it was Friday and already our tickets were booked for Sunday so we all decided to stay back and catch the train as per the schedule. Now next thing came across, what to do on Saturday, we spoke to our Nasik office colleagues and they advised us to see religious places in Nasik like Panchavati ashram, Ram kund, Sundarnarayan Temple, etc.

Honestly speaking I hate visiting temples but left with no choice I agreed and next day morning we started for Panchavati ashram, after reaching I saw the ashram and thoughts started coming in my mind to know more about the ashram. I have heard during my child hood about this place but never get a chance to see personally and now that time came so excitement was but natural. We enquired and gathered information as much as we could.

Next stop was Ram Kund, Nasik is a small place so communicating from one place to another is not much problem and since we were having company’s vehicle so no problem arised at all. When we reached there we found that the kund was in the river and people were taking baths there. When we asked people about the significance, they said that the Lord Ram used to take bath in this place and it’s people faith that if we will take a bath then we will reach heaven. Looks good, it was very clam there so we decided to stay there for a while, we stayed there for 2 hrs and then moved to our next spot.

Our next stop was Lord Ganesh temple which was known as Modakeshwar temple, it is one of most famous temple in Nasik, we saw lot to devotees coming and performing there poojas. On asking we came to know that this temple was named on a special maharastrian dish which is made of jaggery and coconut and known to be very fond by Lord Ganesh. After seeing we moved on….

Next stop was Kalaram temple, Sita Gufa, Nasik fruit and vegetable market. Basically who want to go in the past and see how the life was in ancient age, Nasik is the place to be. And whatever we have actually read in our school books and seeing those was overwhelming, its like going in the past which is very exciting and all together a good experience.

Next day per the schedule we caught our train and we were on our way back to Mumbai.
