Short trip to Khwaja Ajmer Shariff

This was the short trip I have ever made in my life and that too in a very short notice. Because of my work pressure I was very exhausted. Nothing was working out, I was not able to deliver what was expected from me and my team lead was having an eye on me. I remember that was Saturday afternoon and I was in office struggling hard to meet the deadline and other office people went on a picnic organized by the management.

I was so exhausted that I decided to take off and rided on my bike and came home, I was very depressed. Coming back to home I switched on the fan and put on the TV, there was a show coming which shows all the religious places, that time they were showing an episode on Khwaja Ajmer Shariff and showing the whosever been there never came back empty handed, it was so good that I can not take my eyes off from the show. The show was over but in front of my eyes dargah of Khwaja Ajmer Shariff was there. I decided to visit the dargah and make a wish. It was Saturday evening when I decided, although I have plans to go to office on Sunday but I took off and made my mind to go to dargah which was in Ajmer, 3 hrs journey from Jaipur.

I packed my bag, just one pair and I was off to Ajmer. There are many ways to go to Ajmer, either by train or by flight till Jaipur and taxi from there or buses which we can catch from Duala Kuan. I decided to catch a bus, I went to Duala Kuan and waited for the bus. Normally buses to Ajmer starts from ISBT(Inter State Bus Terminal, Delhi) but when the passes by Duala Kuan they pick up passengers from there as well. Bus came and I boarded in the bus and the fare was somewhat rupees 200/- and they told me it will reach Ajmer at 8 am in morning. Although the bus was not comfortable but since I was pretty tired so I didn’t felt much difference and went to sleep. In morning around 4:30 am conductor woke me up and told me that we are in Jaipur and told me to have tea and some snacks if I like. I was in deep sleep, I said no and again went back to sleep. Around 6:30 morning my woke up and desperately waited Ajmer to come.

It was 8:15 when bus arrived at Ajmer, we boarded off from the bus and I asked the conductor itself to suggest some hotel. He suggested a Hotel named Ambasedor which was just 1 km away from the bus stop. I took a rickshaw and asked him to take me to that hotel. He charged 10/- rupees from me and in 10 min I was in front of Hotel. I went in and asked about the tariff, I found it pretty cheap, the room I took it was single deluxe and the tariff was 800/- excluding taxes. While checking in itself I asked them for breakfast and in half an hour the breakfast was there at my door step, it was also quite economical, just 50/- rupees for tea and good bread butter jam toast.

Finishing my breakfast I was off to dargah again I took the rickshaw, and charged somewhere around rupees 20/- and in 15 min I was at the starting point of dargah. Once I reached there lot of muslim guy came and asked me to come along with them as they will guide me till dargah and advice me how to do a pooja at dargah although they charge for that, it depends from a customer to customer. They asked rupees 50/- from me, and I accompanied one. He took me to dargah and near the dargah only there was a place where you can deposit your shoes and adjacent to that there was a shop from where you can get flowers and other stuff to perform pooja. They cost rupees 15/- min for one small bucket of flowers and incense sticks.

After taking the pooja stuff, I walked in the dargah and saw couple of people singing bhajans, it was very soothing and every where the fragrance of incense sticks were coming. I sat down there along with other people and enjoyed the moment although the muslim guy whom I hired was forcing me to perform the prayer fast as he has go back and find some other fellow, in other words other customer. I retaliated and told him that I will as per my wish and if we want to go take the money and go, I will manage myself. He kept quite and then after some time sat with me and started listening to bhajans. After some time I stood up and started for the main room where dargah was. I went inside that and there lot of priests were there and took that flower bucket from me and asked to take one round, it was like merry go round.

I followed the instructions and took a full round of the dargah, people there were offering a sheet of flowers on the dargah which was same the size of bed sheet, amazing. I took a full round and then offered my prayers, once I was done priest returned the flower bucket to me, it was having few beetles of red rose, small packet of sweet and incense sticks.

The priest asked me rupees 50/- as he guided me how to do prayer but it is not necessary to give but I gave him 20/- rupees. I walked out of that room and then the guide guided me to the way where we have to lit up those incense sticks. Once I was done, I walked out and gave guide rupees 50/- and took my shoes and headed back to the hotel. On the way back to hotel my mind was all clam, no thoughts were going around. I came back to hotel had my lunch and checked out as I have to go back to Delhi. I came to bus stop and boarded back in the bus, this time I took an a/c bus which charged me rupees 310/- and I headed back to Delhi. Around 10 pm I reached my home back.

Next morning I went to office, again my mind was calm, no tension, nothing and after reaching office I started my work and I think it was miracle that things started happening, I found the bug, fixed it easily and for the same thing I was struggling from the last 3-4 days. Team members including team lead, all were happy with my work and things started changing. I believe it was a miracle of Khwaja Ajmer Shariff.
