Introduction and history: The city of Vijayawada is located on the banks of the Krishna River, is the third largest city in Andra Pradesh. Bounded by Indrakiladri Hills and Budameru River, the city’s name translates to ‘Place of Victory’. It is the commercial centre of Andra and prominent business center, which is also popularly known as ‘Business Capital of Andhra Pradesh’. The history of Vijayawada traces back to the time of Chalukyas of Kalyan, when they conquered this place. Between September to February is the ideal time to visit Vijayawada.
