Bhadranchalam


Bhadrachalam is a temple city located in Telangana area region of Andhra Pradesh. It is a renowned pilgrim centre, there River Godavari found winding with its vast stretch. The history of Bhadrachalam traces back to the time of Ramayana where many events were believed to happened in this place, which has also got to do with the city’s current name from Bhadra who was a great devotee of Lord Rama. The city is also blessed by Mother Nature, which leaves memorable experience for travelers. In recent history, modern infrastructure built by ITC and the modern techniques and life of the people who work for the paper manufacturer.

What to see : The main attraction is the famous Rama temple built in the 17th century, which attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. There are 24 small temples surround this main temple, which are also a must see for travelers. Other attractions include Perantalapalli, Parnashala, Jattayu Paaka (Yetapaka), Dummugudem, Gundala and Sree Rama Giri are some other attractions of this place. April to June is suitable for temple visits but not suitable for tourist related activities.

Accommodation : In Bhadrachalam, excellent accommodation facilities are available in form of Government guesthouses, tourism hotels and cottages. Luxury accommodation can cost up to 500 rupees per day.

Mode of Transport : Hyderabad is the nearest domestic Airport which has connecting Bhadrachalam located at 325 Kilometers. The nearest railway station is Bhadrachalam Road which is about 40 Kilometers from the city. Frequent trains connect the city with all major destinations in the state. State owned transport bus facilities are available at very reasonable prices.
