Araku_valley


Araku Valley is one of the hill stations in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Located at 115 Kilometers from Vishakhapatnam, Araku is commonly known for its pleasant weather, hills and valleys. The natural beauty of this valley comes alive with its rich landscape, where the valley is roughly 36 Kilometers. Typically a visit to Araku is planned along with the visit to the nearby city Visakhapatnam. The journey to Araku itself is a very interesting one with multiple Ghat section roads with thick forests on either side. There are 46 tunnels and bridges on the way, which makes travel to Araku a great experience.

What to see : There are multiple interesting destinations in and around Araku. Apart from the pleasant journey, Araku is a great place for trekking trip. Ananthagiri hills, located on the way to Araku Valley are famous for coffee plantations. Borra caves is another nearby tourist attraction, located at 29 Kilometers from Araku. There is a Tribal museum displaying Handicrafts and lifestyle of the local folks. October to April is the ideal time to visit Araku.

Accommodation : There are multiple luxury and budget accommodation available in the city, which can go up to 6000 rupees per day. State government promoted guest houses are available offering extremely affordable accommodation.

Mode of Transport: Visakhapatnam is the nearest Airport which is connected by air to Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. It is an important railway junction on Kolkata-Chennai main line and is connected to both the cities by train. National Highway 5 (NH - 5) connects the city with nearby destinations. From Vizag, daily buses are available connecting it with Araku. However the best option is to take local train from Vizag to Araku in order to take a real look at mother nature.
